PIKE COUNTY, Mo. - Authorities are searching for a 23-year-old man who went missing in Pike County, Missouri, nearly one week ago.
The Pike County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding Nathan Mueller, who was last seen on the evening on Dec. 20 in Quincy, Illinois.
Family members informed authorities that Mueller left home with his phone that night and stated he was going for a walk in the woods, though he did not return.
One day later, on Dec. 21, Pike County deputies found a vehicle "unsecured and fully operational with the wallet and clothes of Nathan Mueller." The vehicle was found near State Routes C and E, just west of Frankford and near his grandmother's property.
According to the Pike County Sheriff's Office, it was reported that Mueller had consumed some edibles before he left home that night, which may have altered his perception.
Search efforts in recent days have included local law enforcement, tracking dogs, drones, and a Missouri Highway Patrol aircraft, but Mueller has not yet been located.
On Dec. 22, a grid search by multiple fire departments uncovered a head cover and footprints believed to be Mueller's.
On Thursdsay, a search with specialized dogs covered more than 100 acres, while a Missouri State Highway Patrol team searched a pond.
The Pike County Sheriff's Office says foul play was not suspected and search efforts will continue.
