CHICAGO — A man was killed and a woman was injured in a shooting early Monday morning on the South Side.
Officers responded to the 1800 block of West 83rd Street on the report of a person shot at around 2:05 a.m.
Police found a man, 63, dead at the scene after suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.
A woman, 58, was transported in fair condition with two gunshot wounds to the leg.
Police believe the man was in a verbal altercation with a male and both exchanged gunfire.
The male was not struck and placed into custody. Two firearms were recovered and charges are pending.
