(KRON) -- The San Jose Police Department is searching for a man who was found inside the girls' locker room at Bret Harte Middle School on Monday before fleeing.
The incident at the school, located at 7050 Bret Harte Drive, happened at 2:26 p.m., police said. The unknown adult male was confronted inside the girls' locker room by school staff and ran away. Responding officers were unable to locate the man and he remains at large.
Further details of the incident, including any potential contact with students, are not being released due to the ongoing police investigation, according to the San Jose Unified School District.
Following the incident, the school’s police liaison officer unit is working with school officials “to ensure students feel safe,” SJPD said.
