Man, 23, injured in afternoon Antioch shooting

(BCN) -- A man is in critical condition following a Sunday shooting in Antioch, according to police. Just before 3 p.m., officers responded to shots fired around Sycamore Drive and Peppertree Way.
Upon arrival, police saw evidence of a shooting in the roadway between Peppertree and Lemontree ways.
Officers discovered a 23-year-old man inside Sycamore Square suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital and was listed in critical but stable condition Sunday night.
The motive and circumstances of the shooting have not been released by police.
