From the end of October through November, Mama’s Pies sold and collected pies in preparation for the distribution to help those in need.
Since 2004, the Thanksgiving bake sale has raised more than $2.2 million, selling an average of 3,000 pies a year.
In addition to the sales, donations are welcome. John Crisafulli, president and CEO of Behind the Scenes Catering, will match all donations up to $10,000.
Donations toward the pies can be made at mamaspies.org/donate to help the organization meet its goal.
Chefs, restaurants, bakeries and caterers across San Diego donated their time and talent to bake the Thanksgiving pies to help Mama’s Kitchen deliver breakfast, lunch and dinner to people with critical illnesses preventing them from preparing their meals.
Pies can be picked up from the pick-up locations from 10 a.m-5 p.m. on Nov. 27.
