Officials announced the full closure of Topanga Canyon Boulevard through the Santa Monica Mountains due to dangerous fire conditions over the next couple of days.
The closure will extend on Topanga Canyon Boulevard from Mulholland Drive to Pacific Coast Highway, Caltrans stated in its traffic advisory.
The approximately 11-mile closure will begin at noon on Monday and remain in place until 6 p.m. Wednesday, when a red flag warning for high fire danger is set to expire.
Forecasters are calling for strong Santa Ana winds and low humidity levels between Monday afternoon and Wednesday evening.
"Only residents and local business traffic will be allowed into the canyon," Caltrans stated.
Motorists were urged to use alternate routes to arrive at their destinations.
Current traffic conditions and road closures can be viewed via the Caltrans QuickMap.
The closure is subject to change due to weather or other reasons, Caltrans stated.
