The Love Is Blind season 7 finale saw multiple couples make it down the aisle — but not before one troubled duo chose to say goodbye for good.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for the season finale of Love Is Blind season 7:

Ramses Prashad and Marissa George called off their engagement during episode 12 of the Netflix hit, which dropped on Wednesday, October 23. While the duo began their journey out of the pods as one of the happiest couples, they found themselves at odds back in Washington D.C. when they argued about whether Marissa should take birth control or Ramses should wear condoms when they had sex.

Despite their differences, the duo seemed to be headed to the altar, and even shopped for their respective wedding outfits on the penultimate episode. However, the season finale opened with Ramses telling Marissa he couldn’t go through with the nuptials, leaving her at a loss.

'Love Is Blind’ Couples Status Check: Who Is Still Together?

“I understand falling in love and getting your heartbroken is a risk, I understand that. But then last night, I spoke to my nieces mother and my brother and we had a long conversation just talking about this decision and I learned about things and f—, i just learned that my ex was hurting much more than I realized after the divorce,” Ramses, who was previously married once before, tried to explain. “And I’m just scared that something may happen where I’d end up hurting you.”

While Marissa said that understood there are “a lot of people” and “feelings” involved in them saying “I do,” she stressed that the pair’s relationship is ultimately only about them — but Ramses wasn’t convinced.

“After being married and just, like, seeing other marriages, I just don’t think love alone is enough,” he said, adding that while they had created an “incredible bond” there were certain obstacles he wasn’t sure they could overcome. “This connection is amazing but there are certain things that you can’t get around, especially when it comes to living together and spending the day to day together that’s crazy important,” he added. That’s the thing that can potentially grind us down over time.”

Marissa, for her part, disagreed that “all they had” was love going for them, saying that while they faced issues since getting engaged, they had managed to work through most of them.

“We talked about you needing your space, and I love you enough to give you what you need,” she told him. “This marriage is a promise and a commitment, and with commitment comes a responsibility of, like, getting through whatever we gotta get through. I’m promising to go do life with you forever because I do think we’ll be great together.”

Despite her trying to get him to see that they bring out “great characteristics” in each other, Ramses said that getting married would mean he would be following his “feelings” and not enough “logic,” a mistake he’s made in the past.

“After having these conversations there might have been things I have been brushing aside because they are important,” he explained. Marissa, however, argued that he was giving her “nothing tangible to work with.”

Ramses attempted to get more specific, telling her, “It’s about your energy and my energy living and coexisting in the same space. … Is our energy going to be too much for me or make me feel overwhelmed? It was great and fine in Cabo, but here everyday when you bring in work and day to day stresses, there’s so much going on I didn’t feel like I had a moment to myself.”

Marissa confessed that it wasn’t the first time she had heard someone loves her “energy” in the “first few months” of dating her, but added that their differing styles of living wasn’t a “negative” to her because she does need to learn how to find “time to calm down and chill out and watch TV on the couch.”

She then questioned why Ramses couldn’t “envision” the future she could before telling him that the “shouldn’t have come into this experience between it’s very clear you need to live with someone for a long time before you ever marry them.”

“For the first time i was like 100 percent myself i’ve been the most understanding person how could i feel so sure and you not, i just want someone to be sure about me, you know?” she asked as she broke down. “I just want someone to choose me.”

Marissa continued to sob, asking Ramses if he was “sure” about ending things before telling him calling it quits was a “big mistake.”

“This is not right. This is the worst heartbreak I’ve ever experienced,” she said while crying. She then called her mom to let her know the wedding was off.

“I feel like I’m dying,” I don’t know. Two days ago he told me he’s so excited to get married we picked out our first dance song and he got emotional because he envisioned us getting married,” she said. “So it’s really hard for me to come to the conclusion that we’re done. I feel insane, I feel crazy, like, did I make it all up in my head?”

Viewers last saw Marissa telling her mom, “Mom, it hurts. It hurts so bad,” as Ramses sat in another room with his head in his hands and Marissa’s engagement ring fell on the floor.

Love Is Blind’s Most Dramatic Moments Through the Years

While Marissa and Ramses didn’t make it down the aisle, other couples were saying “I do” elsewhere in the finale. After a roadblock about his secret three surrogate kids, Ashley Adionser and Tyler Francis found their way back to each other and wed. Garrett Josemans and Taylor Krause, meanwhile, also wed before the credits rolled.

“The beautiful thing about us is that we didn’t expect to come in here and find out person. We came in here to just learn more about ourselves, and a very small glimmer of hope that we might find someone we want to spend the rest of our lives with,” Garrett told Taylor during their vows as people in the crowd began to cry. “To find the connection that we had in the pods and to find a feeling that I hadn’t felt before and I never thought I would find, and then to have that just buoyed by seeing you, I didn’t think it was possible to feel this way. I’ve found a partner who is so perfectly matched for me, and I’m perfectly matched for you. And that’s exactly what this is, a partnership.”

In the end, two out of six couples on LiB season 7 made it down the aisle — but how many are still going strong?  Fans will find out when The Love Is Blind season 7 reunion airs on Netflix Wednesday, October 30.
