LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A local brewery is releasing a special, limited edition brew that was made by veterans. Adirondack Brewery is calling the blonde IPA DD-214. It's named after the certificate of release military members receive when they are released from active duty.
The beer is described as smooth and refreshing with hints of citrus and pine. Adirondack Brewery owner John Carr was on site with a representative of the Lake George American Legion as the beer was brewed by a local group of veterans.
"It's a good opportunity to get to meet them, and they get to learn a little bit about what goes into making some of New York State's best beer," he said.
The beer is being released on Friday, Nov. 8. Veterans who come in for lunch or dinner at Adirondack Pub and Brewery will receive a complimentary four-pack to-go. The brewery will also donate DD-214 to the Lake George American Legion Post 374.
