Dodgers fans across metropolitan Los Angeles are celebrating the team's 2024 World Series title after the Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees 7-6 in Game 5 Wednesday night.
KTLA 5 is live on the scene as fans take to the streets to celebrate.
Police formed a skirmish line at Olympic Boulevard and Figueroa Street after a dispersal order was issued in downtown L.A. for an unlawful assembly.
"Figueroa is closed between Olympic and Pico," LAPD said on X. "Surrounding streets around LA Live have also been closed to all vehicle traffic. Leave the area immediately westbound on Olympic Blvd and follow all officers' orders."
A dispersal order was also issued at Sunset Boulevard and Vin Scully Avenue due to an unlawful assembly.
"We know you want to celebrate the Dodgers World Series win, but please do not head to the Downtown LA area," LAPD said Wednesday night. "There are many streets closed in the Downtown LA area and traffic will be heavily impacted. Please celebrate responsibly."
