GILROY — A Las Vegas man was cited by Gilroy police for allegedly performing dental work without the proper credentials, according to a department press release.

The man was arrested on suspicion of committing a misdemeanor offense of practicing dentistry without a license. He was issued a citation and is out of custody while police continue an investigation.

Police said he worked at Envios de Dinero/Isabella Salon on the 7200 block of Monterey Street in Gilroy.

Evidence collected by detectives at the business included dental tools that were “extremely unsanitary,” such as picks, syringes, mirrors and excavators, authorities said.

Police said that the unsanitary conditions led to several patients developing serious dental issues.

A Gilroy police spokesman said detectives believe there are more victims and asked anyone who has additional information, or may have received dental treatment from the suspect to contact Detective Don Tong at 408-846-0357.
