Korean fried chicken chain now open in Dublin, near upcoming H Mart

(KRON) -- A popular Korean fried chicken chain is now open in Dublin. bb.q Chicken held its grand opening on Monday, June 16 at 7904 Dublin Blvd., the restaurant announced in a press release.

In addition to its signature fried chicken, the Dublin location will debut an expanded menu that includes chicken cutlet, bulgogi rice bowls, pasta and ddeok-bokki (spicy Korean rice cakes).

The bb.q Chicken is located across the street from the Dublin Retail Center, where the upcoming Korean supermarket H Mart is expected to open.

Another Korean establishment, Paris Baguette, is located about a five-minute walk from the bb.q Chicken.

“We chose to open a new location in Dublin because of the growing demand for Korean food in the area,” the store owner said in the press release. “With Korean cuisine trending globally, we saw an opportunity to introduce authentic flavors to a new community. Dublin is a vibrant, diverse city that we felt would truly appreciate what bb.q Chicken has to offer. Our goal is to share the taste of real Korean fried chicken with more people.” 

With the Dublin opening, there are now seven bb.q Chicken locations in the Bay Area: Sunnyvale, San Jose, Milpitas, San Bruno, Oakland and Cupertino.

Yoon Hong-guen founded bb.q Chicken in 1995 in South Korea. The restaurant name stands for stands for “Best of the Best Quality." bb.q Chicken's Instagram page has more than 81,000 followers.

bb.q Chicken opened its first U.S. location in 2014 and now has more than 250 locations in the country. The company has a total of more than 3,500 restaurants across 57 countries.
