ST. LOUIS - A judge denied bond Thursday for one of the men charged with killing 16-year-old CBC student Colin Brown last month.
Donovan Baucom faces six felony charges for an errant bullet that struck and killed Brown Nov. 23 as he was on his way home from a hockey game with his father on Interstate 55. Brown died four days later.
Baucom has been charged with first-degree murder, three counts of armed criminal action, first-degree assault, and unlawful use of a weapon.
He claims he didn't do it, though.
Baucom's attorney argued for his release, alleging there is no evidence of a motive of premeditation.
According to court documents, he did admit to driving an Audi during the shooting and that his cousin, Jordan Garrett—who is also charged in the case—opened fire with a rifle during the shooting.
Baucom will remain detained pending his trial, according to court documents. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 22.
