SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The "Insidious: The Further You Fear" immersive theatrical experience will bring the "Insidious" movie franchise to the Proctors stage. On Thursday, Feb. 27, the audience will become an integral character in the performance.
According to Proctors, the show is a theatrical experience that blurs the line between reality and fiction, while constantly changing what's real and imagined, what's safe and what's dangerous. Each member of the audience will come face-to-face with the protagonists as the story unravels.
"We have brought some of the most respected names in the horror and entertainment industries together to make this groundbreaking show possible and ensure a hauntingly unforgettable experience for audiences everywhere," Floris Douwes from GEA Live says.
"The Further You Fear" is hosted as a live event by the "real" Specs and Tucker, the actual paranormal investigators who inspired the first movie. Their "Spectral Sightings Road Show" try to prove they are legitimate ghost-hunters when things start to become very Insidious when a paranormal demonstration goes wrong, and dark forces are inadvertently unleashed.
"Bringing audiences deeper into The Further with this live experience has been an exciting challenge, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how they respond," Jason Blum, Founder/CEO of Blumhouse said. "Insidious is one of our most popular franchises, with a sixth installment premiering next year, and this is a fresh and frightening new way for fans to experience it."
If you aren't familiar with the movies, the producers created the show with that in mind; creating it for those who simply love a fun, thrill-filled night out at the theatre. The tour will also make stops in Buffalo, Syracuse, Brooklyn, Utica and Rochester.
Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday, Oct. 25 through the Proctors Box Office, by phone 518-346-6204 or online at Proctors Website. For more information on the tour, visit their website.
