AUSTIN (KXAN) — An IDEA Kyle employee was recently arrested on campus and charged with resisting arrest, according to a statement from IDEA Public Schools.
That employee was identified as Ernesto Torres, according to the Kyle Police Department.
A suspicious substance was identified on the IDEA campus near the teacher parking lot. When Kyle police arrived on scene, they attempted to question the individual the school identified as the possible suspect, Ernesto Torres. He became uncooperative and combative while detained and was charged with resisting arrest. Statement from Kyle Police Department
In a statement last week, IDEA Public Schools said it was taking “appropriate actions in accordance with the law and network policy.”
The school is located off Philomena Drive in Kyle, Texas.
The school previously said Torres was placed on administrative leave, but in an update, the school said he was no longer employed with the organization.
IDEA Public Schools said the investigation remained ongoing.
