The Thoughts About Buffett’s Launch
The lunch cost Justin Sun the sum of $4.56 million, a figure he claimed many have questioned him on whether it is worth it or not. He acknowledged that he believes in people pursuing their dreams should they have what it takes to do so.

The landmark lunch was even more intriguing considering the fact that Warren Buffett is not a big fan of cryptocurrencies. In line with what Crypto News Flash previously disclosed, Buffett’s criticism of Bitcoin got to its peak when the investor said he would not pay even $25 for the coin. Notably, the price of Bitcoin was trading around $40,000 in April 2022 when he made the comment.
While the recent account of Warren Buffett and Justin Sun’s lunch did not make any mention of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency, the young Billionaire’s update showed how he must have learned some of the values to keep up with his investment strategies.
Justin Sun made mention of Charlie Munger in the video, citing him as an example of someone who has a lot to share but there’s no longer an opportunity to meet with him as he passed away last year. Charlie Munger, up until his death was also not a fan of Bitcoin and crypto, however, in accordance with Crypto News Flash’s prior coverage, Berkshire Hathaway is known to invest in Nu Holdings, a Brazil-based digital bank with an interest in Bitcoin.
Justin Sun noted that the lunch marked one of the biggest honors of his life especially as the funds for the launch was donated to a charity in the local community.
The Warren Buffett Bitcoin Gift
Besides the profound impact, the lunch had on him and on Litecoin (LTC) founder Charlie Lee, eToro Chief Executive Yoni Assia, Huobi Chief Financial Officer Chris Lee, and former Binance CEO Changpeng ‘CZ’ Zhao all of whom he was permitted to invite to the event, Justin Sun revealed that he gifted Warren Buffett a smartphone containing 1 Bitcoin and 2 million Tron (TRX) coins at the time.
While Buffett rarely makes mention of the gifted cryptocurrencies Sun believes he must still be in possession of the assets despite the billionaire Wall Street legend acknowledging that he has gifted the smartphone alongside its assets to the GLIDE Foundation. In today’s valuation, the Bitcoin gift would be worth $69,169.27 and $272200 respectively.
