How to Qualify for the $996 Energy Stimulus Payment – Requirements You Must Know

Residents of New York City are known to suffer from high winter heating expenses every year. For those who are most in need, the government offers a benefit that aims to reduce the financial strain brought on by the expense of keeping their homes warm in the face of extreme temperatures, thereby reducing health risks and preserving vital energy services.

In a city with one of the highest cost of living in the nation, the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) provides stimulus checks of up to $996 to needy segments of the population.

This benefit enables people to cover their heating expenses, including fuel, utility bills, and equipment replacement and repairs, even if their rent includes heating.
