Homicide suspect arrested for unrelated home invasion: police

(KRON) – A man who was arrested for a home invasion is now facing homicide charges, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

At 4:07 p.m. on Wednesday, San Francisco police officers were dispatched to the 100 block of 7th Street. The officers were responding to a well-being check. Police said they located an unresponsive man lying on the floor.

Medical personnel declared the victim dead at the scene. After the Medical Examiner conducted an investigation, police were informed the victim’s death was “suspicious.”

SFPD identified 37-year-old Sergii Sakhno as a suspect in the victim’s death and had probable cause to arrest him.

The following day, San Francisco PD arrested Sakhno for an unrelated home invasion. The officers informed the homicide department of the arrest.

Sakhno was booked into San Francisco County Jail for suspicion of homicide, burglary, receiving stolen property and for an active and outstanding out-of-county warrant.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the SFPD at (415) 575-4444.
