A homeless man has been arrested in connection with a deadly stabbing last month in Riverside.
On the afternoon of Sept. 29, the body of 54-year-old Charles Edwin Jensen of Yucaipa was found near the railroad tracks behind a building on the 2500 block of Kansas Avenue.
Jensen died after being stabbed multiple times, the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Office said at the time.
In the weeks that followed, homicide detectives were able to identify the suspected killer as Robert Thomas Campbell, a 26-year-old transient from Murrieta.
Campbell was already in custody and being held at a Riverside County detention facility for violating the terms of his parole, officials said.
He's since had a murder charge added to his booking and he is being held without bail. His next court date is scheduled for Nov. 1, jail records show.
The investigation into the killing of Charles Jensen remains ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact Riverside PD detectives William McGuigan and Richard Glover.
