SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- The National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory that is in effect from 6 a.m. Tuesday through 6 a.m. Wednesday for beaches along the San Francisco Bay Area coastline.
Weather officials are forecasting a moderate period northwest swell with breaking waves up to 15 feet.
During the advisory, the public is advised to remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions. NWS said that pets should be kept on a leash and away from the water. The agency also reminds people never to turn their back to the ocean.
