Hailey Bieber Talks Getting Back to Work After Giving Birth to Baby Jack

Hailey Bieber got real about how she’s maintaining her work-life balance after becoming a mom for the first time,

“I’m only doing what feels comfortable for me physically, mentally and emotionally,” Bieber, 27, said in an interview with Women’s Wear Daily published on Wednesday, October 16.

Hailey and husband Justin Bieber, who tied the knot in 2018, welcomed son Jack Blues in August. Justin, 30, announced their newborn’s arrival in a sweet social media post.

“WELCOME HOME,” he captioned a photo of Hailey touching Jack’s foot, which was wrapped in a fuzzy blanket. “JACK BLUES BIEBER .”

The model noted that she took a soft break before getting back into the full swing of work after giving birth. However, she sees her beauty brand, Rhode, as a child — calling the business her “toddler” to the outlet. (Hailey launched Rhode in June 2022. The company’s moniker comes from Hailey’s middle name.)

As she’s watched her brand grow and take the internet by storm in the past two years, Hailey learned a lot of lessons along the way.

“Mistakes are going to happen … [there] “will be bumps in the road, which are out of your control,” she reflected. “But you need to pivot, run and work with them as they come.”

One accomplishment Hailey is most proud of is getting supermodel Claudia Schiffer to sign on as the face of Rhode’s Barrier Butter. The campaign has taken social media by storm.

“I really wanted to use someone who transcended several different generations and demographics,” she reflected. “When I think of Claudia, the iconicness is just immediate, plus her reach and impact on so many different age groups.”

Hailey gushed that she was a “big fan of” Schiffer for a long time and always thought of her when envisioning what was next for Rhode.

“I’ve been inspired by her as a model and her imagery has been on several of our Rhode mood boards since we started,” she said.

Since welcoming Jack, Hailey hasn’t shied away from showing off her glowy postpartum look. One month after giving birth, Hailey showed off her minimal makeup look. While posing in the mirror selfie, the beauty founder donned a kissy face while rocking feathered eyebrows, rosy cheeks, natural lashes and light pink lined lips.

Hailey’s device sported one of Rhode’s pink phone cases. She teased to WWD on Wednesday that she wants to expand the brand’s line to go beyond skincare.

“I would love to continue playing in the world of tech merch — like the lip phone cases,” she said.
