Former GTA 5 developer Ben Hinchliffe broke the enigma of the Mount Chiliad mystery. He revealed that the easter egg was “just to mess with people”.
The Mount Chiliad within GTA 5 has been the focus of attention as a conspiracy theory for over 10 years. Fans have been trying to solve the easter egg in many ways but in the end, it was revealed as literally nothing.
When Hinchliffe was asked about the easter egg on GTAVIoclock, his response was “As with all easter eggs, sometimes you just put them in to mess with people. They don’t actually do anything, you just mess with people, drive them a little bit crazy.”
The GTA series is famous for its wild and mysterious easter eggs as well. The mystery of Mount Chiliad is without any doubt the most hyped one.
This mountain is the tallest point on the map of GTA 5. Players spotted alien glyphs and have been curious for years about dissecting the meaning behind them.
GTA 5 was the first release in 2023. The game still rules the top-selling list giving tough competition to the new releases. The game has also set the bar too high for the next edition in the franchise, GTA 6 which players are eagerly waiting for.
GTA 6 was revealed in late 2023 and the release has been confirmed by Rockstar Games in the Fall of 2025.
