GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The U.S. Attorney's Office announced on Tuesday that Norbert Morgan, 54, of Glens Falls, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for possessing and distributing child sex abuse images. Morgan pleaded guilty back in May.

As part of his plea, Morgan admitted to using multiple social media accounts to share images depicting the sexual exploitation of children between February and August of 2023. Morgan is a registered sex offender who confessed to committing the crimes while under post-release supervision for similar previous convictions.

A search of Morgan's apartment conducted by law enforcement during the investigation yielded thousands of illegal photos and nearly 200 such videos on a seized personal tablet. In addition to the prison time, Morgan was ordered to pay restitution to the 13 identified victims, serve a new 25-year term of post-release supervision, and continue to register as a sex offender following his release.
