'Four more years of bull***t': Schwarzenegger endorses Harris, slams Trump

(KRON) -- Actor, bodybuilder and former Republican governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger has thrown his support behind Democrat Kamala Harris's bid for the White House. In a lengthy statement posted to X, Schwarzenegger began by saying he didn't "really do endorsements," adding that he hated politics and doesn't "trust most politicians."

"I also understand that people want to hear from me because I am not just a celebrity, I am a former Republican Governor," he continued.

The Austrian-born actor, who swept into the governor's mansion following the 2003 recall of Gov. Gray Davis said he didn't "like either party right now."

"I want to tune out," he continued. "But I can't."

"I will always be an American before I am a Republican," he continued. "That's why, this week, I am voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz."

While the former "Governator" did not elaborate on his choice to support the Harris-Walz ticket, neither did he mince words when it came to why he would not be voting for former President Donald Trump.

"A candidate who won't respect your vote unless it is for him, a candidate who will send his followers to storm the Capitol while he watches with Diet Coke, a candidate who has shown no ability to work to pass any policy besides a tax cut that helped his donors and other rich people like me but helped no one else, a candidate who thinks Americans who disagree with him are the bigger enemies than China, Russia, or North Korea -- that won't solve our problems," Schwarzenegger said.

"It will be four more years of bull***t with no results that makes us angrier and angrier, more divided, and more hateful," he added. "We need to close the door on this chapter of American history, and I know that former President Trump won't do that. He will divide, he will insult, he will find new ways to be more un-American that he already has been, and we, the people, will get nothing but more anger."

After being initially elected in the 2003 recall, Schwarzenegger was reelected as California governor in 2006 and served out a second full term until 2011.
