Foiled ATM theft leads to police chase, suspect's arrest in Town and Country
A suspect who allegedly attempted to break into an ATM and led officers on a brief chase Wednesday evening in Town and County is now behind bars.
TOWN AND COUNTRY, Mo. - A suspect who allegedly attempted to break into an ATM and led officers on a brief chase Wednesday evening in Town and County is now behind bars.
The Town and Country Police Department credits the swift actions and coordination of officers from multiple agencies for aiding in the arrest.
Town and Country officers initially responded to reports of an attempted ATM break-in at an undisclosed location. Shortly after, they received a radio traffic alert indicating that the suspect vehicle was in the area.
Police spotted the suspect vehicle heading northbound on Mason Road from Manchester Road, then deployed tire deflation devices near the intersection of Mason Road and Clayton Road to successfully disable the car. One suspect was taken into custody moments later.
No injuries were reported. Charges have not yet been formally filed in this investigation.
