Fire destroys half of Morgan Hill mushroom warehouse

(KRON) – Half of a mushroom warehouse went up in flames Friday morning, according to the Morgan Hill Fire Department.
Crews were alerted to Monterey Mushrooms, a mushroom warehouse, at 642 Hale Avenue at around 7:30 a.m. The department said the fire spread to half of the warehouse upon the responding firefighters’ arrival. The warehouse is around 2,000 feet long.
The fire department deployed eight fire engines, three water tenders and one aerial truck.
The other side of the building was “salvaged,” according to the fire department.
According to MHFD, the cause of the fire is not yet determined.
Crews are still on the scene to ensure the fire is completely extinguished, said the Morgan Hill Fire Department.
