(KRON) – The San Jose Police Department is investigating the city’s 26th homicide of the year.
At 2:38 a.m. on Sunday, San Jose patrol officers were dispatched to the 100 Block of South 2nd Street regarding a shooting. Responding officers found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite paramedics and officers providing aid to the victim, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after the next of kin is notified.
SJPD said officers are investigating the motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting.
