Fatal rollover crash on I-55 near Darien slows holiday getaway
A truck driver was killed in a rollover crash Friday afternoon near southwest suburban Darien.Illinois State Police troopers responded to a call of a multi-vehicle crash on the southbound lanes of I-55 near the Cass Avenue exit ramp around 12:40 p.m.When they arrived, troopers found a semi-truck had rolled over into a ditch, state police said. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said. As of 4:30 p.m. Friday, southbound lanes of I-55 were shut down and traffic was being diverted onto Route 83. No other information was available.
