OLIVETTE, Mo. - An exotic cat brought into Olivette's APA Adoption Center last week has been euthanized after suffering from severe injuries caused in a car accident.
Two exotic servals were pulled from a car that was rear-ended in St. Louis County on Nov. 6. Both were taken to the care of the APA in Olivette, with one of them having been critically injured.
According to the APA center, the injured serval had undergone surgery for several different injuries.
"Despite the veterinary team's dedicated efforts, his condition continued to decline, and he had to be humanely euthanized," a release stated.
The second serval managed to be transferred to a Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries-accredited facility, which "ensures her ability to live out the remainder of her life with dignity and the care she deserves."
