Eigenlayer’s Twitter gets hacked, phishing links posted

Eigenlayer’s Twitter account was hacked earlier today, and a malicious airdrop campaign was posted. Users expecting rewards from a previous airdrop were targeted.

The post claimed that users could participate in a new airdrop, but clicking the link led to a phishing site. This link had no connection to Eigenlayer’s restaking protocol or legitimate activities.

The post was deleted soon after it was published, so at least the hackers lost access to the account quickly.

ZachXBT, a well-known on-chain investigator, immediately alerted users via his Telegram channel. He warned against clicking any links posted by the compromised account.

The hack is part of a larger trend in the crypto space where social media accounts, especially Twitter and Discord, have been increasingly targeted. Even the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) had their account hacked recently, with the FBI making an arrest in that case just yesterday.
