NEWS10, N.Y. (NEWS10) - On Easter Sunday, events took place around the Capital Region to mark the holiday. NEWS10's Cassie Hudson has the sights and sounds from some of the weekend's local celebrations.
The Frear Park Conservancy returned with their community Easter egg hunt in the Collar City. During the event, more than a hundred children clamored for the chance to collect plastic eggs, and meet the 'Bunny of Honor.'
Children in Cohoes got the Easter festivities started early on Saturday morning at Lansing Park. Three separate eggs hunts, by age categories, were held. Special honors went to one child in each group who found the “special egg.”
In Schuylerville, local dogs getting in on the Easter fun too! To prepare for the two-day event at Hudson Crossing Park, volunteers at Battenkill Community Services filled close to 2,000 plastic eggs with dog treats.
