E. coli cases continue to rise following St. Louis County outbreak
The St. Louis County Department of Public Health confirms it is investigating at least 97 cases of sickness from a recent E. coli outbreak.
ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – The St. Louis County Department of Public Health confirms it is investigating at least 97 cases of sickness from a recent E. coli outbreak. The department said all of the people who got sick had eaten salads served at five events catered by Andre’s Banquets & Catering. The department is also investigating one current E. coli hospitalization connected to the outbreak.
The department said the events took place between Nov. 6-9 across St. Louis County, including two connected to the Rockwood School District.
The outbreak may also be spurring a legal battle. At least two lawsuits have now been filed against Andre’s.
The business denies the allegations and tells FOX 2 upcoming test results of their products will come up negative for E. coli. They also claim multiple students who were sickened as a result of the outbreak were sick before the catered events took place and never even ate the food provided by Andre’s.
