Driver arrested on suspicion of San Anselmo hit-and-run

(KRON) -- The driver of a vehicle allegedly involved in the hit-and-run of a bicyclist in San Anselmo on Jan. 20 was arrested, according to the Central Marin Police Authority.

Police responded at 3:30 p.m. to the area of Sir Francis Drake and San Francisco boulevards on the report of a hit-and-run. Arriving officers learned that a vehicle struck a bicyclist and then fled the scene.

The bicyclist suffered critical injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital. Their current condition is unknown.

Investigators were able to identify the vehicle that was involved in the hit-and-run, police said, and learned that it was registered to a Mill Valley address.

Officers went to the registered address and found the suspect vehicle. The owner of the vehicle was contacted, and it was determined that they were driving while the collision occurred, according to Central Marin police.

The driver was arrested and booked into the Marin County Jail for felony hit-and-run.
