Double Homicide Reported in Downtown San Diego; Suspect and Officer Also Shot

Two men were shot and killed while sitting in a car in the Core-Columbia area of downtown San Diego Wednesday morning.
According to OnScene.Media, a man approached the two in the car for as-yet unknown reasons and shot them multiple times at around 8:22 a.m.
One man was reportedly shot seven times in the upper torso, and the other was shot in the head, OnScene said. Emergency crews tried to resuscitate the victims to no avail.
He then fled toward Ash St. and India St. Officers then found the suspect near Kettner Blvd. and Juniper St., where both he and an officer were shot under as-yet unclear circumstances.
Both the suspect and the police officer were taken to local hospitals.
Homicide detectives from the San Diego Police Department are investigating the shooting.
