ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Associated Press has called the race for Democrat incumbent Didi Barrett over Republic Stephan Krakower for New York's 106th State Assembly District.

New York's 106th State Assembly district includes parts of Columbia and Dutchess Counties.

Barrett's platform focused heavily on securing a sustainable future and embracing renewable energy in New York. In Barrett's candidate interview with NEWS10, she said it's important that the state follows through with its climate change goals but not at the expense of taxpayers and residents.

Krakower ran on a platform that prioritized managing the cost of living in New York. In Krakower's candidate interview with NEWS10, Krakower said "These are really difficult times for a lot of people. The cost of living is so high. I just want people who want to live here to be able to stay here."
