Deputies, family search for runaway 11-year-old in Ventura County

Deputies and family members are searching for an 11-year-old boy who ran away from his home in Ventura County at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

The boy named Andrew Su was arguing with his mother before she left for the market around 10:30 a.m., according to reports, and when she returned a half hour later, he was gone.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said Su was last seen at his home in the Sunset Hills area near Laurelwood Drive and Sandhurst Avenue in Thousand Oaks.

It is unknown whether Su had a direction of travel or a destination when he left.

Su’s mother last saw him wearing a blue and red striped collar T-shirt, light gray pants, and blue athletic shoes.

Reports show Su took a dark blue backpack with him, which contained a school-issued Google Chromebook (laptop), his school homework, and a black hard flute case with a flute inside.

If located, deputies ask that you please contact Ventura County Sheriff’s Dispatch at 805-654-9511 or Detective Eisenhard at 805-947-8252.
