Denver weather: Warm weekend before cooler change next week
Denver can expect one more weekend but the Pinpoint Weather team is tracking a possible hard freeze in the 20s next week.
DENVER (KDVR) — We woke up to our first official freezing temperature of the season in Denver weather when we hit 32 degrees at 6:14 a.m. at the airport. On average, Denver records it first freezing temperature on Oct. 7. The earliest we've hit freezing was on Sept. 8, 2020 and the latest was on Nov. 15, 1944.
The Pinpoint Weather team, Colorado’s Most Accurate Forecast, is tracking a hard freeze in the 20s next week.
Weather tonight: Clear and chilly with patchy frost
It'll be clear across most of the state with just a few high clouds over the mountains. The wind will be light and generally in a southerly direction.
Temperatures will again turn chilly to cold. There will be plenty of below-freezing temperatures in the Colorado mountains. We will have chilly readings in the 30s along the Front Range. However, temperatures look to be a few degrees above freezing in most spots. There once again could be some patchy frost too.
Weather tomorrow: Sunny and warm
There will be a warm westerly flow across Colorado on Saturday that will lead to above-average high temperatures in most locations, including metro Denver.
You will notice a few passing afternoon clouds for several hours. The wind looks to stay out of the south and will be light.
Looking ahead: Turning cooler with rain and snow showers
There will be a few more warm and dry days on Sunday and Monday. It could be windy at times on Monday, which could elevate the fire danger given how dry it has been in October.
We are tracking an incoming storm system and associated cold front coming late Tuesday into Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to dip below average for a few days.
We will have rain showers late Tuesday into early Wednesday that could be a rain/snow mix for the city. We are also forecasting a hard freeze Thursday morning, with readings in the 20s for several hours.
Right now Halloween looks pleasant with seasonal temperatures and conditions for trick-or-treating for the kids.
