Denver weather: October 2024 on track for one of the driest on record

DENVER (KDVR) — It's been a warm and dry October and could be one for the record books.

Oct. 23 kept this theme going with high temperatures in the 70s and sunshine instead of any rain.

So far, Denver has only picked up 0.11 inches of rainfall for the month. This rain was spread out over two days, with 0.09 inches of rainfall at Denver International Airport on Oct. 18 and 0.02 inches of rain on Oct. 21.

By this point, Denver usually has closer to 0.78 inches of rainfall and is closing in on the 0.99 inches of rain that is typical for the entire month of October.

Dry weather is in the forecast through the weekend and into the start of next week. However, the Pinpoint weather team is tracking a cold front that will knock down temperatures, and bring back the chance for much-needed moisture to the area.
