DENVER (KDVR) — After a dry, sunny start to Election Day, more rain and snow showers are in Denver's weather forecast.
A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day has been issued for Wednesday due to accumulating snowfall leading to difficult driving conditions.
Weather tonight: Mainly clear, chilly
Monday night will be mainly clear and cool. Low temperatures in Denver will drop to the upper 20s, which is just a few degrees below normal for this time of year.
Weather tomorrow: Sunny start, chance for late showers
Tuesday, Denver will start off cool and dry.
By the afternoon, temperatures will climb to the 50s alongside increasing clouds.
The clouds will be ahead of showers that will start as a chilly rain, before changing over to snow Tuesday night into Wednesday.
A winter storm watch is set to go into effect at 5 p.m. from Tuesday until 5 p.m. Wednesday. Moderate to heavy snowfall will accumulate to 5-10 inches in the southern foothills and Palmer Divide, leading to difficult travel conditions.

A Pinpoint Weather Alert day has been issued for Wednesday for accumulating snow that could lead to slick roads and difficult travel conditions.
Tuesday night into Wednesday, moderate to heavy snowfall will accumulate to 1-3 inches in the Denver, area with over 5 inches possible in the foothills and Palmer Divide.
This won't be the area's last chance for snow this week. The chance for showers continues on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. At this point the system's path is still uncertain, so stay tuned to the latest on timing and totals for this event.
Then, drier and seasonal conditions are on track to move back in by the end of the weekend.
