Blockchain-based digital payment network RippleX has unveiled a new 3D gaming platform labeled DeFi-Island. The new gaming platform aims to explore the XRP Ledger (XRPL) using real Testnet transactions, increasing the blockchain’s functionality.
DeFi-Island Features and Gameplay
DeFi-Island is a Web-based 3D showcase of the XRPL React.js library, which is open source. The game features a wide expanse of land with eclectic inhabitants. It is designed for blockchain lovers and gamers who crave something fresh, as it combines the simplicity of human interactions with Web3 culture.

Players can contribute to the game by upgrading inhabitants’ community infrastructure and learning about blockchain technology and Decentralized Finance (DeFi).
Interested players willing to start on the island will receive a terminal device that executes code and creates a wallet on the XRPL Testnet. As they progress through quests, the terminal will run a script that sends and receives XRP, establishes trust lines, and manages tokens. Additionally, players can mint and burn Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) on DeFi-Island.
DeFi-Island highlights the reactive hooks and components of the XRPL React.js library. It is the first public demo of React 3 Play, a new game engine for the 3D web.
Ripple introduced NFT functionalities and use cases on XRPL via the NFT-Devnet testnet launch in 2022. As reported by CNF, the NFT-Devnet allowed developers to access crucial NFT functionalities like minting, trading, and burning.
It also supported advanced features like automatic royalties and co-ownership. Automatic royalties reward original NFT creators, while co-ownership represents ownership by multiple entities.
Recent Improvements on XRPL and Adoption
The integration of XRPL on DeFi-Island highlights the growing adoption of blockchain networks. The XRP Ledger is now home to a diverse set of Decentralized Applications (dApps) that span diverse sectors. These include decentralized exchanges, supply chains, social media, and sustainability.
Moreover, RippleX recently reset the XRPL Testnet to enhance the platform’s stability and efficiency. This follows technical issues that impacted Automated Market Maker (AMM) pools on the XRPL, as CNF reported earlier. Therefore, the XRPL Testnet rest provides a more robust environment for developers.
RippleX also announced intentions to integrate Ethereum Virtual Machine capabilities into the XRPL. The platform aims to revolutionize its applications in DeFi and asset tokenization.
In a related development, Peersyst Technology recently introduced XRPL to MetaMask users through its Ledger Snap. Peersyst collaborated with Sayfer, a trusted leader in blockchain security audits, to ensure the highest security standards.
The recent integrations and developments in the XRP Ledger have ignited bullish sentiments on XRP’s price. As of this writing, XRP has a price of $0.5192, up 1.4% in the past 24 hours. The 24-hour trading volume increased by 42.12%, suggesting investors’ rising interest.
It is worth noting that more games, products, and services on the XRPL will keep placing bullish pressure on XRP.
