Dave Chappelle returns to San Francisco with a new show

(KRON) – Comedian Dave Chappelle is set to return to a San Francisco stage the day before Valentine's Day.  

The controversial comedian and 2019 Mark Twain Prize winner is recognized as one of the greatest comedians of all time. He is best known for his groundbreaking sketch comedy television series “Chappelle’s Show,” movies and comedy specials. 

On Sunday, Chappelle won his third consecutive Grammy for his comedy album The Dreamer. Overall, he has won this Grammy six times. He is also a five-time Emmy award-winner. 

The show is scheduled to be at the Masonic at 8 p.m. on Feb 13.

Tickets will be available on Ticketmaster’s website to purchase at noon on Wednesday. Like many comedy shows, phones, smartwatches, and accessories must be placed in provided pouches that will be opened at the end of the event.

In 2022, hundreds of people signed a petition against Chappelle performing at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa for his comments regarding the LGBTQAI+ community in his “The Closer.” 

Despite the protest, the comedian performed four sold-out shows in Santa Rosa.
