A 43-year-old man and his 17-year-old son were arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder in the shooting death of the boy’s mother in Pagosa Springs, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

Archuleta County sheriff’s deputies responded to Chrystal Snow’s home the morning of July 2 after someone called 911 from her phone, CBI officials said in a news release Monday.

Deputies found Snow, 38, had been shot to death.

Police arrested Charles Christopher Martinez, 43, and his son Hevon Martinez, 17, on suspicion of first-degree murder in Snow’s death. Hevon Martinez will be charged as an adult, according to CBI.

Charles Martinez was previously wanted by police in September when one of his and Snow’s children was reported missing after state officials were granted emergency custody following her death.

The boy was later found safe after Martinez’s family brought him to the sheriff’s office.

Charles Martinez was arrested in Cortez and booked into the Archuleta County Detention Center. Hevon Martinez was already in custody in a different case, CBI officials said Monday.
