(BCN) -- Monta Vista High School in Cupertino is locked down Monday morning due to false reports of an active shooter, authorities said. The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office said deputies are at the campus on McClellan Road investigating the report.
"There are no active threats, and all students and staff are safe," the sheriff's office said on social media shortly before 10 a.m.
According to an update from the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, deputies have completed their search of the school, and all students and staff have been released for the day. Extracurricular activities have been canceled.
The campus is safe, officials said. Classes at Monte Vista High will resume Tuesday, Dec. 10.
