Crews pull truck, ATV out of Alcove Reservoir in Coeymans
The fire department says it was dispatched around 2:40 a.m. to help with a lane closure and scene lighting at a crash when the truck was spotted submerged in the reservoir.
COEYMANS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- According to the Coeymans Hollow Volunteer Fire Corp. (CHVFC) and the Albany County Sheriff's Office (ACSO), a truck was pulled out of the Alcove Reservoir in Coeymans early Thursday morning. There was also an ATV that was recovered by responding crews.
The fire department says it was dispatched around 2:40 a.m. to help with a lane closure and scene lighting at a crash and a truck was spotted submerged in the reservoir. No driver was seen inside.
CHVFC reports that the State Police dive team was dispatched to check the truck for a second person in the car, but no one was found inside and the truck was removed from the water. According to Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple, a man was found a short distance from the scene walking down the road in wet clothes.
The sheriff's office says the driver was identified as the man walking named Ethan Rose, 20, of Evans Mills. He allegedly had a suspended license in the state following 26 prior suspensions in 10 states.
Rose was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and other misdemeanors and traffic violations. He was released with an appearance ticket for the Town of Coeymans Court on November 21 at 9 a.m.
