Construction worker hit, killed by excavator
A construction worker was killed by an excavator Sunday in the Bay Park neighborhood, authorities said.
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A construction worker was killed by an excavator Sunday in the Bay Park neighborhood, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Morena Boulevard, according to the San Diego Police Department.
A 40-year-old man, identified as Cesar Xavier Abarca Carillo, was working at a construction site when he was struck by an excavator, the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office said on its website.
Abarca Carillo was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An excavator is a large piece of machinery usually used for digging and moving materials.
