The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis is asking for the public's help in identifying and locating a suspect in connection with its investigation into a fatal shooting in Collinsville.

COLLINSVILLE, Ill. – The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis is asking for the public's help in identifying and locating a suspect in connection with its investigation into a fatal shooting in Collinsville.

The shooting happened shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of Olive Street.

Officers with the Collinsville Police Department responded and found Portia L. Rowland shot dead in a driveway. Rowland was 32.

Collinsville police contacted the Major Case Squad for assistance to solve the case.

Late Wednesday afternoon, the Major Case Squad released a pair of images of an unidentified man dressed in all black, holding what appears to be a firearm. In one picture, the suspect is pointing the gun toward the ground. The second, blurrier image shows the man raising his arms to possibly fire the weapon.
