CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Every October, 45 Evergreen Avenue transforms into Kurt Ray’s own personal 'Halloweentown.' The Ray family moved into their home back in 1994 and over time their Halloween decorations got bigger and bigger.
When Kurt was ready to scale back on the decorating, a letter arrived in the mail from a few children in the neighborhood thanking him for his spooky decorations. At that point, a tradition was born.
In late April/early May, Kurt puts out a display that reads "Halfway to Halloween." He shares his love for the holiday with his family. On Halloween, he expects to have more than 1,000 visitors.
On Sunday, Oct. 27, decorations in Kurt's yard was allegedly defaced, along with another Halloween display in the neighborhood. He filed a police report and repaired his decorations. According to Sheriff Zurlo, it was an isolated incident to two homes and there is no threat to the community.
