Normally, when food establishments unveil a new “app,” they mean “appetizer.”
But make no mistake, Chick-fil-A is in fact introducing a mobile app for kids and their families.
In a press release issued Monday, the fast food giant said they wanted to extend their family-friendly atmosphere “outside the restaurant and into the homes – and hands – of guests.”
Thus, they invented the Chick-fil-A Play App, which offers a digital platform for participants to connect with the chicken chain through original animated shows, kid-friendly podcasts and interactive games.
Also included within the app are video-based recipes and crafts to try at home as well as e-books and interactive stories to spark conversation and creativity.
“Hospitality and fun have always been at the core of the Chick-fil-A family experience, whether inside our restaurants and play areas or through our kids’ meals,” Chick-fil-A Executive Director of Brand Strategy Dustin Britt said. “The Chick-fil-A Play App is a digital extension of that experience and another way we’re reimagining ‘play’ for our guests, in a unique way through entertainment that really encourages time together.”
The chicken chain released a trailer for their original animated series “Legends of Evergreen” last Friday.
Their new app is set to go live on Nov. 18 on all platforms.
