Cat injured in Rensselaerville fire Monday afternoon
Around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Tri-Village Fire Company responded to a structure fire on Miller Road. There were no reported injuries, except to a cat that was pulled from the residence.
RENSSELAERVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Tri-Village Fire Company responded to a structure fire on Miller Road. There were no reported injuries, except to a cat that was pulled from the residence.
The injured animal was treated by emergency medical services on site. A deputy from the Albany County Sheriff's Office then transported the cat to the Capital District Animal Hospital.
According to the fire department, the house was ruled a complete loss after the fire. A cause, however, was not released by the fire department.
It took firefighters over three hours to control the fire, they said. Tri-Village as well as Rensselaerville, Medusa and Berne fire responded to the fire.
On Monday, temperatures were below freezing. The fire department reminds residents to use extreme caution when thawing out pipes or when using heating devices during cold weather.
