Cardinals, Diamond Sports reach new agreement with 'direct-to-consumer' streaming option
The St. Louis Cardinals and Diamond Sports Group have reached a new agreement to air local game broadcasts through FanDuel Sports Network Midwest for multiple years, the team announced Thursday.
ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Cardinals and Diamond Sports Group have reached a new agreement to air local game broadcasts through FanDuel Sports Network Midwest for multiple years, the team announced Thursday.
The Cardinals say this will include a "will include a direct-to-consumer streaming option for fans within the extensive Cardinals TV territory."
The agreement is for a a new, multi-year linear and digital rights agreement, This allows Diamond Sports Group to carry on as the local broadcast provider of the St. Louis Cardinals through regional sports network FanDuel Sports Network Midwest, recently renamed from Bally Sports Midwest.
This agreement comes after previous concerns this offseason that Diamond Sports Group could have dropped the Cardinals from its portfolio as Diamond Sports navigates bankruptcy proceedings.
