Capital Region hosts several Trunk-or-Treat bashes

With the spooky season in full swing, several towns, villages, cities, and local organizations are prepared to celebrate Halloween with trunk-or-treats. Below are some local trunk-or-treats happening the week leading up to Halloween.

Capital Region hosts several Trunk-or-Treat bashes

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- With the spooky season in full swing, several towns, villages, cities, and local organizations are prepared to celebrate Halloween with trunk-or-treats. Below are some local trunk-or-treats happening the week leading up to Halloween.

From local police departments to the Parent-Teacher Associations, there are numerous trunk-or-treats to participate in a safer trick-or-treating experience. Families and their kids can tour decorated vehicle trunks and participate in pumpkin painting, bounce houses, and more activities.

Albany County

  • Albany Rural Cemetery: The cemetery's free trunk-or-treat is on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Albany Rural Cemetery. In addition to the candy being given out, complimentary food and vendors will be available.
  • Triple Threat Athletics: The Trunk-or-Treat Spooktacular is a free, rain-or-shine event on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. In addition to free food, vendors, and games, a haunted house will be available for $10 a person.
  • Palace Performing Arts Center: The Palace will host a free trick-or-treat celebration on Halloween from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., including treats, candy, activities, and music from DJ TGIF.
  • West Albany Fire Department: On Saturday, Oct. 19, the West Albany Fire Department will host a trunk-or-treat at the firehouse on Sand Creek Road from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., which includes vendors, crafts, and more.
  • Capital Repertory Theatre: The theatre will host a community trunk-or-treat on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Capital Repertory Theatre parking lot on N Pearl Street.
  • Elm Avenue Town Park: The Bethlehem Public Library and town officials will hold a trunk-or-treat celebration at Elm Avenue Park on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Family members can participate in different trick-or-treat stations run by community groups in Bethlehem.
  • Cohoes Halloween Party: City officials in Cohoes will have a trunk-or-treat at the 2024 Halloween Party on Friday, Oct. 25, at 6 p.m. The event starts with a Halloween Parade departing from Remsen Street and Columbia Street.
  • Bethlehem Lutheran Church: The Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Elm Ave in Delmar will host a trunk-or-treat on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The free event features a bounce house, food, and, of course, candy.
  • Guilderland Public Library: Join the Guilderland Public Library for a spooky evening on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • WildPlay Thatcher: The high-ropes course and adventure park's trunk-or-treat is Friday, Oct. 25, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Rensselaer County

  • East Greenbush Masonic Temple: The temple's trunk-or-treat is on Saturday, Oct. 26, from noon to 3 p.m. at the East Greenbush Masonic Temple.
  • Troy Community Rising Project: The Fourth Annual Community Rising Project Trunk-or-Treat is Saturday, Oct. 26, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the organization's center on 1st Street in Troy.
  • Rensselaer County Public Safety: Along with first responders, Rensselaer County Public Safety will celebrate the Fourth Annual Trunk-or-Treat on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. behind the Rensselaer County Public Safety building in the north parking lot in East Greenbush.

Schenectady County

  • Glenville Police Department: The Glenville Police Department's Second Annual Trunk-or-Treat is Saturday, Oct. 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Indian Meadows Park. In addition to candy, Kona Ice and other food trucks will cover snacks and activities, including bounce houses, getting an up-close view of first responders' vehicles, and more.
  • Rotterdam United Methodist Church: The Rotterdam United Methodist Church will have a free trunk-or-treat on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the church parking lot.
  • Schenectady Nazarene Church: In partnership with Paige Elementary School, the Schenectady Nazarene Church will host its trunk-or-treat on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 5 p.m. at the church.
  • Mohawk Honda: Schenectady's Mohawk Honda will host a trunk-or-treat on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Saratoga County

  • Mohawk Chevrolet: Mohawk Chevrolet in Ballston Spa will celebrate its annual free trunk-or-treat on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Burnt Hills United Methodist Church: The Burnt Hills United Methodist Church's trunk-or-treat is on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 11:45 p.m.
  • Hemstreet Park Fire Department: The fire department will host a trunk-or-treat in Mechanicville's Hemstreet Firehouse parking lot on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 6 p.m.

Greene County

  • Blackthorne Resort: A free trunk-or-treat celebration by the Blackthorne Resort on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the East Durham resort. A pet costume contest will kick off at 2 p.m. in addition to collecting candy, panting pumpkins, and more crafts and activities.
  • Greenville Rotary Club: The Rotary Club of Greenville is hosting a trunk-or-treat at GNH Lumber in Greenville on Thursday, Oct. 31, at 3 p.m.
  • Palenville Girl Scouts Troop: Girl Scout Troop 5517 will host a trunk-or-treat following the Palenville Fire Department Ladies Auxilary's Rag-a-Muffin Parade on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 2 p.m. on the corner of Woodstock Avenue and Malden Avenue.

Columbia County

  • Chatham Mary E. Dardess Elementary School PTA: The Chatham MED PTA will host a trunk-or-treat on Friday, Oct. 25, from 5 to 8 p.m.
  • FASNY Museum of Firefighting: The Firefighters Association of the State of New York and Molly, the museum dog, will host a free trunk-or-treat at the FASNY Museum of Firefighting in Hudson from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. From decorated fire trucks to games and more, there's plenty of fun for the whole family.
  • Ichabod Crane Primary and Middle School: The Ichabod Crane PTA in Valatie will host a trunk-or-treat on Friday, Oct. 25, at 5 p.m.

Montgomery County

  • Village of Fonda: Village officials will celebrate Halloween with trunk-or-treat throughout the village on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the village park.
  • Glen Volunteer Fire Department: The annual town of Glen Fire Department trunk-or-treat is on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the firehouse parking lot.

Warren County

  • Up Yonda Farm: The Up Yonda Farm Environmental Education Center's annual trunk-or-treat will be on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Several activities will be available, including pumpkin painting, free books, and more.
  • Nemer Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram: Catch a glimpse of some spook-decorated Jeeps at the Jeeptoberfest Trunk-or-Treat at Crandall Park in Glens Falls on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Washington County

  • Granville Central School District PTO: The Granville PTO Trunk-or-Treat is Thursday, Oct. 24, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Granville Elementary School parking lot.
  • United Ag and Turf-Northeast: United Ag and Turf-Northeast will host a community trunk-or-treat in Greenwich on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 2 to 5 p.m. in the John Deere dealer's parking lot.
